Groups
Bible Study:
A study group that is open
to all members of the Immaculate Conception Community. Meetings
are held every Monday at 10:00 A.M. Participants review various
passages of scripture, discuss their meanings and apply them to
life experiences.
Rosary:
A group of parishioners who prays
to the Blessed Mother, especially through the Rosary. Their motto
is, “To Jesus through Mary,” according to St. Louis de
Montford. They meet every Thursday morning at 10:00 A.M. at
Carmella Hebert’s home, 505 Ave J, Marrero. Every third Thursday
of the month, Rev. Denzil Perera gives a morning of reflection.
Vocation:
A parish vocation committee who works to foster the growth of
vocations to the priesthood and religious life. The members
organize parish and school activities for National Religious
Vocation Week.
Charismatic:
A group of parishioners who
celebrates the actions of the Holy Spirit in their lives. Regular
meetings are held according to the group’s needs.
Blue Army:
A chapter of the Blue Army of Our
Lady of Fatima who promotes the message of Our Lady of Fatima and
strives to fulfill her requests: First Saturday Fatima Devotions,
daily rosary and wearing the brown scapular. The Archdiocesan
Director is Rev. Denzil Perera and the Marrero Chapter President
is Carmella Hebert.
Third Order of Mount
Carmel:
A chapter of the Third Order of
Our Lady of Mt. Carmel who chooses to live out their baptismal
promises according to the spirit and traditions of the Carmelite
Order. The members of the Immaculate Conception Chapter are called
by God to follow Jesus and to be deeply involved in the mission of
the church through the charisms of community, prayer and ministry.
They live their vocation by listening to the word of God and
sharing in the prayers and works of the entire Carmelite Order.
The community provides support for their spiritual journey in the
workplace and where they live.
Servites:
A secular order of the Servants
of Mary founded by a group of seven nameless men. They were
uniquely canonized as one. It is an order rooted in fraternity and
service. The inspiration and model for the order is the Sorrowful
Mother, Mary. As a secular order, they strive to emulate the love
and devotion Mary exhibited at the foot of the cross. Saint
Anthony Pucci Secular Community meets on the third Sunday of every
month. They extend an invitation to everyone interested in growing
in spirituality.
Mary’s Helpers:
A group of men and women who
endeavors to enhance the world following the direction of the
Blessed Virgin Mary. CST programs are broadcasted on the World
Wide Web at http://www.wtix690.com every Sunday at 6:00 A.M. and
9:00 A.M. Join Mary’s Helpers at 4512 Seventh St., Marrero in
the Chapel for prayer at Noon and 3:00 P.M., Monday thru Friday.
